Phil Malara is the Plant Manager for Detroit Thermal. A Detroit area transplant, Phil has 12 years of experience in a utility setting. He has extensive experience in operations, maintenance, customer relations and management in coal and gas utility plants. He has worked Hamtramck Energy Services for 10 years in operations and management supporting customer needs and requirements. He started his career at First Energy during college for 2 years. Phil holds a Power Plant and Management Degree from Youngstown State University and boiler operations license though the state of Michigan. He lives with family in the Detroit metro area.
